Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated: 28 July 2026

This policy explains how Proper Express, a subsidiary of Proper Logistics Private Limited (CIN U51201CT2024PTC016500), handles personal data. It applies to this website and to the services you book through it.

1. Who we are

Proper Express, Behind Nutan Rice Mill, Telghani Naka, Raipur, Chhattisgarh 492001. You can reach us at info@properexpress.com or on 011-6965-6899.

2. What we collect

When you create an account

Your name, company name, contact number, alternate number, email address, postal address, city, state and PIN code. If you are a business, we also collect your GSTIN and PAN, which we need in order to raise compliant tax invoices. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form.

When you book a shipment

The consignment details you enter, including the name, contact number and address of both the sender and the receiver, a description of the goods, declared value, and any document or e-way bill numbers you provide. Where the receiver is not you, you are sharing their details with us and are responsible for having a basis to do so.

When you pay

A record of each transaction: amount, method, running wallet balance and the shipment it relates to. We do not store card numbers, UPI credentials or bank passwords.

Automatically, when you use the site

  • Sign-in activity. Your IP address and browser user-agent string are recorded on each login, logout and failed login attempt, so we can detect unauthorised access to your account.
  • Tracking lookups. When anyone looks up a consignment without signing in, we record the IP address and the time of the query. This exists solely to rate-limit automated scraping of the tracking system.
  • Session cookie. A single cookie that keeps you signed in as you move between pages. It carries no personal data and is discarded when your session ends.

If you subscribe to our newsletter

Your email address, and whether you are currently subscribed. Nothing else. You can remove yourself at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

3. Why we use it

  • To carry, track and deliver your consignment, which is not possible without sender and receiver details.
  • To take payment, maintain your wallet or credit account, and issue GST-compliant invoices.
  • To contact you about a booking — a pickup, a delay, a failed delivery or a query.
  • To meet legal obligations under tax, transport and e-way bill regulations.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse of tracking and login endpoints.
  • To send newsletters, only where you have asked for them.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

4. Third parties on this website

Some parts of this site load resources from other companies, which means those companies may see your IP address and basic request information:

  • Google Analytics and Google Ads — measure how the site is used and how effective our advertising is. Google sets its own cookies. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Maps — the map on our contact section, and the directions links on our branches page.
  • OpenStreetMap — supplies the map tiles on our branches page.
  • jsDelivr — a content delivery network that serves one JavaScript library used for on-screen messages.
  • Our hosting provider — operates the servers this site runs on.

5. Who else sees your data

Our branch staff and delivery personnel see what they need to carry out your booking. We share data outside the company only where it is necessary to deliver the service, or where the law requires it — for example a lawful request from a tax, transport or law enforcement authority.

6. How long we keep it

Booking, invoice and payment records are kept for as long as tax and company law requires us to keep them. Account details are kept while your account is open. Security and tracking logs are kept only as long as they are useful for detecting abuse.

Specific retention periods are being finalised and will be stated here.

7. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data of yours we hold, and who we have shared it with;
  • correct anything inaccurate or incomplete — you can edit most of this yourself from your profile;
  • erase data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
  • withdraw consent, where our use rests on consent, such as the newsletter;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to.

Write to info@properexpress.com and we will respond. Note that we cannot delete records we are legally required to retain, such as tax invoices.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed, not stored. The site is served over HTTPS. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

9. Children

Our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Grievance officer

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, contact us at info@properexpress.com and your complaint will be escalated to our grievance officer.

The named grievance officer and direct contact details will be published here.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be notified to account holders.
